Air Dry Hair Extensions
As we talked about previously in our blog post about 5 hair drying mistakes, the less you touch your hair with either hot tools, drying, brushing, etc the less stress your hair has to experience which leads to healthier hair. Don’t get us wrong, choosing quality hair products to add to your hair routine is great, but reducing the amount of times you process your hair in general will extend the life of your hair. This same concept applies to extensions and is why air drying your extensions as opposed to using hot tools is often a better choice. Even though all Endless Hair Extensions are made from 100% Remy human hair and thus can be treated and styled just like your own natural hair, it’s a good idea to air dry them occasionally and cut back on any unnecessary or accidental damage from hot tool use.
Air Dry vs. Hot Tools
But you might be wondering why you’d even want to air dry hair when you can quickly do so with hot tools. Well let’s talk about the differences between air drying and heat styling first. The obvious first benefit to air drying is that it prevents damage and extends the life of your extension but air drying will also help blend your extension in better with your own natural hair. Why? If you air dry extensions overnight, your natural hair and the extension’s texture will blend together and match seamlessly. You can do this with any sort of styling you might have done with your own natural hair and can do it either by sleeping in your extensions or by wearing them through the day. When it comes time to wash your extensions, remember that your Endless Hair Extensions don’t receive the natural oils from the scalp as natural hair does, so they don’t need to be washed as often as they won’t get oily or greasy like natural hair. In fact, it’s best to wash them every 10 or so wears or when there’s a lot of product build-up that prevents styling.
Check out these quick and easy hairstyles you can use to mix up your hair routine and utilize for when you blend your natural hair with extensions. To wrap up, don’t forget that each time you curl or apply heat to your extensions, you’re applying hair products into the cuticles of the hair. If you’re short on time, don’t stress out if you can’t air dry hair but it’s a good practice to do every so often to keep your hair looking shiny, beautiful and healthy longer!
